Xavi to remain in charge of Barcelona

Xavi is set to remain in charge of Barcelona.

The Barca coach oversaw victory against Rayo Vallecano yesterday amid talk of president Joan Laporta being ready to sack him.

The pair met briefly last night after the win, where Xavi's position wasn't discussed.

Laporta's idea is that once the last LaLiga match against Sevilla has been played, he will meet with the coach to make a final decision on his continuity and talk about the future.

The post-match summit was also brief because the president was not feeling well: he has a bad cold.
